We believe business and community are inextricably linked and we aim to play an active role locally and regionally, focusing our energy, enthusiasm and funding in the areas where we can have most impact.
Corporate responsibility at Blake Morgan is an integral part of our business philosophy to make a difference for our clients, our people and our communities. Our efforts continue to evolve and to be a great source of achievement for our people, at all levels. Many of our partners have non-exec or secondary roles within the community, such as coroners, undersheriffs, and chairs of committees and boards where they can help to promote change on a regional level, helping businesses and economies to grow and thrive.
Our people are keen to give something back to the local communities where they work and live. Every year, they are involved in a host of fundraising, volunteering and mentoring initiatives, which benefit hundreds of charities, organisations and individuals. Our firm is proud of their efforts and keen to support them in every way we can, including matching funds raised by teams and individuals.
Our efforts continue to evolve; we are currently looking at how volunteer groups can help with small community projects, where a concentrated effort can really make a difference to speed up results.
We aim to make a difference in four ways:
The hospice provides inpatient and day care to patients with advancing cancer and non-cancer specialist palliative patients. Their specialist team also provide support to families and carers of patients. The hospital service for those in the greater Southampton area provides 27 specialist palliative care beds; a Beacon Award specialist palliative care team in the community; an enthusiastic specialist hospital palliative care team; a dedicated day care service; Beacon Award winning education team and research environment dedicated to improving end of life care.
The charity was selected as Blake Morgan's chosen office charity for the South Coast for the next two years. Staff in the firm's Southampton office in Chandlers Ford will now plan a calendar of events to raise funds for the hospice, including BBQ's, Bake Sales, Christmas Fetes and more!
Rachel Rawlings, Corporate Fundraiser at the charity, said: "We are over the moon to have been chosen as Blake Morgan Southampton's charity of the year for the next 2 years! It's only with the support of local businesses and individuals, like Blake Morgan, that we are able to support so many patients and their families, both at the Hospice and in the local community. The wonderful team at Blake Morgan have already planned a whole host of exciting events, and we can't wait to get started with this fantastic new partnership!"
