To apply

“As Blake Morgan's Training Principal I would like to take this opportunity to wish you the very best of luck with your application for a training contract with us. We try to make the application process as enjoyable as possible with lots of exposure to our trainees and lawyers within the firm so take advantage of the opportunity and start building up those networks. We also highly recommend taking part in our vacation scheme to get a real feel for us, our culture and our clients to ensure that we're the right firm for you.”

'Tony Coyne, Training Principal' 2016
Our recruitment process for 2020 training contracts and 2018 vacation scheme is open on 2 November.

To apply for a training contract with / without vacation scheme please go to our online application form.

Please find below a summary of some of the key things you might wish to consider when making an application.

Some key things to know...

  • Our online application form gives you the opportunity to give examples of where you have used particular skills that we have identified help make a good lawyer. Try to give examples of your broader experiences rather than just concentrating on law related experience. Applications are reviewed once set deadlines have passed. Our online application form usually goes live at the beginning of November each year receiving applications for the following year's process.  So no excuse!
  • If invited along to an assessment day then the first thing to do is to revisit your application to remind you what you have said. There may be some time that has elapsed since completing the form and you may wish to add some additional information, such as exam results or work experience gained. Do some more research on the firm and prepare for the interview. Think about the sort of questions you are likely to be asked and have a suitable response ready and consider the questions you may want to ask the interviewer. Preparation is key and will perhaps give you the edge over other candidates.
  • On the assessment day you will be asked to complete individual tasks along with a group exercise, and a one to one interview with a senior member of the firm. If, from the assessment day, you are shortlisted to attend a second interview you will be required to consider a legal scenario given to you 15 minutes prior. The second interview is a panel interview.

The whole process can be nerve wracking, but we try to make it as relaxed as it can be for every candidate allowing you to perform to the best of your ability.
