Did you forget the budget?

13th May 2020

Employment law solicitor Madeleine Mould has written a piece first published in the latest online Reward Strategy magazine on the budget announcements, which may have been forgotten.

Understandably, the focus of many of the Government’s recent announcements has been the coronavirus pandemic but the March 2020 Budget contained some important updates on other developments of interest to employers.

These range from a new consultation paper regarding a week’s unpaid leave for carers and confirmation about the introduction of a new statutory right to neonatal leave and pay.

Madeleine looks in detail at key areas of employment law, including:

  • National Minimum Wage
  • Employment Allowance
  • Unpaid carer’s leave
  • Neonatal leave and pay
  • Tax-Free Childcare
