Crossing borders - the Welsh Planning system.

Posted by Guthrie McGruer on
We are all delighted to be joining forces with Morgan Cole from 1 July giving the Blake Morgan planning team the opportunity to expand its reach into Cardiff and beyond.

The Welsh planning system differs from that in England in a number of respects as a result of devolution.

For example, the NPPF does not apply in Wales where Technical Advice Notes (TANs) - broadly equivalent to the former PPSs now largely abolished in England – continue to apply.

A new Planning Bill for Wales alone is currently going through the Welsh Assembly and is expected to become law towards the end of the year.

Since I have a cottage in the Brecon Beacons Welsh planning law and practice is of particular interest to me so I'll be returning to this topic in further blogs.
