Fraud at Haberdashers' Aske's Federation Trust
Haberdashers' Aske's Federation Trust, which runs three academies – Hatcham College in New Cross, Knights Academy in Bromley and Crayford Academy in Crayford – has been the victim of a £2 million fraud.
The Trust has reported that the money was stolen over a seven year period through a series of unauthorised transactions involving one individual staff member.
An individual has been arrested in connection with the theft and criminal enquiries are ongoing. The Trust has revealed that a successful civil action was launched against the employee involved and the Trust is now seeking to recover its lost money.
