A South Coast Real Estate Network event - 7 February 2019

Posted by Daniel Curtis on
There is a growing awareness amongst businesses of the impact of high housing costs on the local economy – the Central South is an expensive place to live.

Talented young people are looking elsewhere for jobs or having to commute greater distances to their place of work. However, unaffordability is impacting recruitment and retention across all grades and roles. For some companies the inability to attract skilled staff could force them to re-examine plans for growth and investment or even consider relocation bringing into questions the sustainability and future success of our economy. So what can be done about it?

We invite you to join us to discuss the findings of the recently published report by the Southern Policy Centre, sponsored by Radian Homes and Enterprise M3, which is designed to kick start the debate and encourage more joined up thinking and co-ordination in tackling the issue.

The event will be chaired by Professor John Denham, Chair of Advisory Board, Southern Policy Centre and on the panel leading the discussion will be:

  • John Beresford - Managing Director, Buckland Development Ltd.
  • Ralph Facey - Director of Partnerships & Projects, Radian.
  • Keith House - Leader, Eastleigh Borough Council.

Dr Simon Eden, The Southern Policy Centre, will give a brief opening presentation to share the findings of the report.

There will plenty of time to ask questions and also the opportunity to network with other guests and hosts before and after the main proceedings.
