Blake Morgan welcomes £1.3bn Swansea Bay City Deal
Prime Minister Theresa May has signed off the Swansea Bay City deal to put Wales at the forefront of science and innovation.
The plan is expected to create more than 10,000 jobs and trigger almost £1.3bn investment in the region.
Philip Jardine, Divisional Director for Built Environment who acts on behalf of Welsh Government and Swansea City Council congratulated the team behind the City Deal.
He comments: “Today’s announcement is great news for the Swansea Bay City Region and all those involved with the City Deal. There is real momentum now behind the regeneration in this area; the City Deal should deliver far reaching benefits for all of South West and West Wales. However, we now need to see a swift decision from UK Government on the tidal lagoon along with a commitment to improving connectivity West of Swansea to enable the true transformation required to benefit future generations.”
