Welcome to the latest edition of our Agriculture and Rural group's quarterly ebulletin.

This edition leads with the good news that the firm's Agriculture & Rural sector group has launched a new centre of excellence, which is located in our Southampton office and will ensure that our clients are provided with a central UK hub for agriculture & rural legal services from one location. What is renewable energy?

'Renewable Energy' is the new buzz word for diversification replacing the Livery/Holiday Cottages/office projects that land owners were implementing 10 years ago.

Assets of community value

Provisions in the Localism Act 2011 came into force on 21 September 2012 providing for a list to be maintained by councils of 'assets of community value'. There is a process laid out in the legislation and regulations for the council to maintain a list pursuant to requests from local groups.

Section 31(6): What's in it for you?
