APSCo Legal Forum, London – 1 October 2014

For the third consecutive year, Blake Morgan's Recruitment Sector Group is hosting the series of Legal Forums for members of the Association of Professional Staffing Companies (APSCo).  

The final Forum in this year's series will take place on Wednesday 1 October 2014.  The Forum is for all in-house lawyers and those working in legal and compliance roles, whatever their level of legal knowledge and experience.  Presentations will be given by lawyers who are specialists in their field and the recruitment sector.

Agenda     

  1. Welcome & introductions - Dawn Lock
  2. Immigration: Allan Briddock, Partner and Head of Immigration -  Blake Morgan LLP.  An overview of the immigration system and how it impacts on the recruitment sector.  Allan's presentation will also address the steps necessary to be compliant with immigration law and procedure, including general right to work checks and responsibilities under the points based system.
  3. Share incentives – weighing up the options: Stephen Archibald, Partner – Blake Morgan LLP. Incentivising staff by means of shares – share grant versus share options – the pros and cons of each and how to implement your chosen route.
  4. Update on and discussion of current legal issues affecting the recruitment industry: Dawn Lock, Volt; Oliver Weiss, Associate, Blake Lapthorn LLP; and Bridget Wood, Partner, Blake Lapthorn LLP.  A general update with the opportunity for discussion and debate on topical issues such as holiday pay and the intermediaries tax legislation.
