Companies House Notice - strict filing deadlines
The Registrar of Companies is permitted to issue penalties for the late filing of certain documents at Companies House.
Companies House have recently published a public notice bemoaning the inability of companies to file changes to their directors within the statutory deadline. The language of the notice implies that Companies House will now be clamping down on those companies who fall foul of the statutory deadlines.
Company directors should be aware of these deadlines and ensure that they stick to them to guarantee that a penalty will not be issued. Whilst we are unaware of any penalties being issued recently, the fact that Companies House have posted a public notice on the subject (and have the ability to) suggests that they will be tightening up on late filings and penalties may well start to be issued.
