Blake Morgan announces appointment of new Managing Partner
Blake Morgan has announced the appointment of Mike Wilson as its next Managing Partner as Walter Cha steps down after 16 successful years in the role.
Mike will officially take up the position on Friday 1 July 2016, as the firm marks two years since its creation following the merger of Blake Lapthorn and Morgan Cole on 1 July 2014.
Mike has been a board member since the merger as well as Regional Senior Partner for the Thames Valley.
The management change marks the completion of integration between the two firms and the beginning of the next chapter in its growth plans and service offering. Over the last two years the firm has relocated to flagship new offices in London and Cardiff, and strengthened its corporate, banking and private client teams as well as its offering to entrepreneurs through its merger with London firm Piper Smith Watton.
Walter was instrumental in the transitional phase and will remain a partner at Blake Morgan, maintaining client relationships, acting as an ambassador for the firm and supporting Mike in his new role.
Mike said: “Walter has left us with an impressively strong platform for future growth. His external-facing approach to our business, coupled with his commitment to growing Blake Morgan, has placed the firm in a great position to move forward with confidence in today’s legal services and business market. The firm recognises his achievements and I look forward to taking over at an exciting time in Blake Morgan’s history.”
Walter said: "I have spent the last two years leading the integration of Blake Lapthorn and Morgan Cole into the top 50 law firm that Blake Morgan is today. Now, as we approach our second anniversary, it is the right time to hand over the reins to the very capable Mike Wilson as he assumes the role of Managing Partner.”
Blake Morgan provides a breadth of legal services across the private and public sectors from its offices in Cardiff, London, Oxford, Portsmouth, Reading and Southampton.
