Celebration marks launch of law firm Blake Morgan
Business leaders and clients from across the south gathered in the historic surroundings of Goodwood House to officially mark the launch of law firm Blake Morgan.
The event was a celebration of the merger between Blake Lapthorn and Morgan Cole which took place on July 1.
Guests enjoyed drinks, canapés, speeches, a string quartet and historian-guided tours of the house.
In one of the grand rooms of the country house near Chichester, home of the Earl and Countess of March, Martin Hirst, Blake Morgan regional senior partner for the South Coast, welcomed guests and spoke of the firm’s proud history in the region and how Blake Morgan teams can now offer the area an even broader range of legal skills.
Blake Morgan Managing Partner Walter Cha then thanked clients and guests and told the how the merger will build on the firm’s principles of making a difference to its clients and communities, and how much Blake Morgan values support from its clients and friends on the south coast.
He said: “We have a great platform to build on and the two legacy firms have a fantastic heritage. We want to be close to our business communities and make a difference to the businesses and individuals in this region.
“Clients, professional contacts and our communities are central to our work at Blake Morgan and when I look around this room I see friends who have helped us on our journey.
Mr Cha then asked the staff of Blake Morgan to toast clients and friends in the room and in the wider community.
The launch event came a week after the prestigious Legal 500 directory, which recommends the UK’s top lawyers, singled out six south coast Blake Morgan partners as “leading individuals” and recommended 30 more.
Blake Morgan operates from seven locations – London, Oxford, Reading, Southampton, Portsmouth, Cardiff and Swansea – with more than 400 of its staff based in Southampton and Portsmouth.
