Topping out at One Central Square

Law firm Blake Morgan has celebrated the topping-out of their new home at Rightacres One Central Square development.

City of Cardiff Council Leader Phil Bale joined Paul McCarthy of Rightacres and Philip Jardine of Blake Morgan to mark the major milestone, which comes just 11 months after the City Council Leader cut the sod in August 2014.

Blake Morgan will lease 30,000 sq. ft. on the top two floors of the nine-storey building with an option to take further space if required. It is due for completion in December 2015 and the Blake Morgan Wales team, which is currently 230 strong, is scheduled to relocate in January 2016.

Councillor Phil Bale, Leader of City of Cardiff Council said: “It’s great to see Central Square begin to take shape. We need an entrance to the capital which will wow visitors, make everyone who lives here proud and play a part in delivering economic benefits and jobs. The City Council is working hard to regenerate this area and this is the first step towards delivering an exciting new public realm for the people of Cardiff.”

Paul McCarthy, Chief Executive of Rightacres said: “The building is on target for completion in January next year and we look forward to welcoming Blake Morgan as our first tenants to One Central Square. We are encouraged by the level of interest in the building and there is no doubt that a lot of the momentum is down to Blake Morgan pinning their colours to the Central Square mast.”

Philip Jardine, a Partner with Blake Morgan adds: “Our move to Central Square is a reflection of our position as one of the UKs fastest growing law firms and provides room for our continued growth. We are excited about the opportunities to further develop our business in Wales and are delighted to be part of this development. We look forward to playing a part in this exciting project over the next couple of years.”
