Described by Legal 500 as ‘a formidable business woman’ Alison was a member of the Blake Morgan Board and Director of our Litigation and Dispute Resolution division for over 9 years. Having successfully grown the practice group to over 230 people contributing approximately £24m of the firm’s fee income she is now responsible for growing the firm’s Mental Capacity and Court of Protection team. Alison also manages the Blake Morgan Injury Group.
Main areas of practice
Alison has a legal background as a health care litigation specialist, a role for which she has consistently received recognition in the leading legal directories. Her current focus is on Mental Capacity and Court of Protection work – a practice she has developed over the last 25 years. She enjoys a strong reputation amongst clients, competitor firms and the Bar.
Alison works with a wide range of clients from commercial organisations such as insurers and health care regulators to private individuals. She is a lead client partner for some of our largest, most complex corporate clients.
Alison has extensive law firm leadership and management expertise with over 20 years board level experience leading strategic and operational initiatives to build successful teams and deliver excellent client service. Alison has been responsible for driving through some of the Firm’s key business transformation projects of the last few years, particularly around client service, core values and innovation.
As a certified Executive Business Coach, Alison is experienced in building high performance teams, developing leadership capabilities in individuals and creating and implementing solutions to leadership and management challenges.
She qualified with the world-renowned leadership development community Meyer Campbell and mentors business leaders and senior managers on overcoming business challenges and meeting strategic objectives while transforming individual and team performance. She is a member of the Meyer Campbell Connected forum.

As a member of the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Committee at Blake Morgan, Alison champions diversity in the workplace and is also an active member of the national Women on Boards initiative – helping women get to the top within their own company or to take on a board or committee role as a non-executive director (NED), trustee or governor. She was awarded Professional Woman of the Year at the NatWest Venus Awards in 2018.
She plays an active role in the local community including as a Vice Chair of the governing body of St Swithun’s school in Winchester and as Secretary to the PCC of All Saints Church Minstead.
