Andy is a Trainee Solicitor currently working in the Property Litigation team based in Southampton.
Main areas of practice
Andy is now a second year trainee with Blake Morgan in his third seat in Property Litigation based in Southampton. He deals with disputes relating to property matters such as lease renewals and extensions, boundary disputes, and rent arrears.
Andy has previously seats in the Construction team in Southampton where he was be dealing with both contentious and non-contentious matters. In this seat he acted in relation to disputes relating to construction issues acting for employers, contractors, and other parties to large construction projects. Additionally Andy also worked on the transactional side ensuring that the contractual documentation was correct prior to a projects commencement.
Andy’s first seat was spent on secondment to BAE Systems Commercial Law UK team in Farnborough. Whilst on secondment Andy worked in house for BAES mainly reviewing, drafting, and amending contracts as well as reviewing the company’s internal policies and procedures where necessary.
He was previously a paralegal within Commercial Recoveries in Portsmouth, and two years’ experience within debt recovery. Experienced in landlord and tenant, debt purchase, and vehicle finance debt recovery.
Andy now works for a number of the firms property clients including both individuals and companies of varying sizes. Previously worked for BAE Systems, DAS Insurance, Volkswagen Financial Services, Mercedes Benz Financial Services, and Capquest Investments Limited.
Previously completed a graduate management scheme with Enterprise Rent a Car which lead to his managing two branches of the global car hire giant.
Andy, graduated from the University of Surrey in 2010 with a 2:1 in LLB Law, completing optional modules in Media Law, Public International Law, and Employment Law.
Completed a LLM Masters in International Law in 2015 at the University of Southampton focusing on Internet Law, International Commercial Arbitration, Carriage by Air, and Conflicts of Law. Also completed a dissertation looking at the impact that the Internet has had on our basic human right to the Freedom of Speech.
Completed the LPC at the University of Law, Guildford in 2016 graduating with a Distinction and completing elective modules in Commercial Law, Commercial Dispute Resolution, and Employment Law.
Have worked for Blake Morgan for two years initially part time while studying his LPC full time and then full time for 14 months prior to commencement of Training contract.
Andy commenced his training contract with Blake Morgan in September 2017.
