Elizabeth is a Senior Solicitor in the Clinical Negligence team based in London. She joined the team in December 2014.
Main areas of practice
Elizabeth runs a wide range of different clinical negligence claims which include, delays in diagnosis and treatment, plastic or cosmetic surgery, gynaecological injuries often as a result of child birth, care of the elderly, missed fractures and claims involving children including assisting on high value birth injuries cases.
Claims are conducted against various sectors including GPs, Dentists, Hospitals both NHS and private, and care homes.
Elizabeth’s clients come from all across the country and are from all walks of life. Often they have been through a great deal and are still in the process of getting well. Elizabeth fully appreciates this and ensures that the client is at ease by making the legal process accessible and as streamlined as is possible, to minimise any additional stress for her clients.
Elizabeth also worked at Action against Medical Accidents (AvMA http://www.avma.org.uk/) the UK’s only patient safety charity for two years, honing her client care and medico-legal skills. She still continues to support the charity and its work which is of enormous value to the general public. Elizabeth volunteers on their helpline once a month.
Elizabeth has successfully completed a Level 2 Certificate in Mental Health Awareness qualification.
Elizabeth graduated from the University of Southampton with a 2:1 combined honours degree in English Literature and Philosophy and had a successful career in Marketing and Public Relations for several years following this, leaving as a Senior Account Manager working on a variety of clients and accounts across all areas of media.
In the last year of her former career Elizabeth undertook the law conversion course or CPE / Graduate Diploma in Law and subsequently the LPC at BPP securing a Distinction in both. She graduated top of her year in the CPE and won the book prize for her academic results.
Elizabeth qualified in 2008 and is a Clinical Negligence specialist. The change of career path was completely the right choice and she is passionate about the area she practices in.
She joined BL Claims Solicitors in December 2014 as a Senior Solicitor.
