Before joining our Clinical Negligence team Jacqui had over 18 years of experience as a registered nurse

Main areas of practice

During the course of her employment as a nurse, with both the NHS and the Royal Navy, Jacqui gained extensive experience in many fields, including general surgery, emergency care and general practice.


Jacqui now uses this experience to liaise with clients, assess medical records, research the clinical backgrounds to cases and advise on levels of care within her fields of speciality.



Having trained with the NHS, Jacqui joined the Royal Navy in 1992 where she gained over 12 years of nursing experience. She then returned to the NHS and worked in Day Surgery operating theatres for 2 years.

Jacqui first joined the firm in 2006 and worked in our clinical negligence team for four years. Having relocated to California to accompany her husband on a Royal Navy appointment in 2010, she rejoined our team in 2013.

Significant Experience

  • Jacqui provides essential support to both our Clinical Negligence and Personal Injury teams and also occasionally assists our Travel and Regulatory teams.
  • She has been involved in a wide range of claims, using her clinical knowledge and nursing background to obtain relevant information from clients and assess medical records.

Additional Expertise

Jacqui received specialist training in Operating Department nursing with an interest in orthopaedics and plastic surgery. She worked in these specialities for 6 years before joining Blake Lapthorn.
