Melodie is a solicitor in our Employment team based in Reading. She has experience advising both employers and employees on a wide range of employment issues.
Main areas of practice
Melodie assists clients with both contentious and non-contentious employment issues. This can involve advising on the enforceability of restrictive covenants, providing day-to-day advice on employment relations, or defending Employment Tribunal claims.
Melodie joined Blake Morgan after completing her training and qualifying as a solicitor at Royds Withy King. Melodie graduated from the University of Portsmouth in 2011 with a First Class Honours degree in Law & Criminology, before going on to complete her Legal Practice Course at the University of Law and qualified as a solicitor in 2018.
- Advising an employer on proposed unilateral reduction of employee wages.
- Drafting and reviewing employment contracts.
- Successfully negotiating the payment of an employee's contractual benefits on the termination of their employment.
- Case preparation and negotiation of the settlement of unfair dismissal and breach of contract claims including the non-payment of bonuses and equal pay.
