Blake Morgan teams on the South Coast celebrate success in the Legal 500 directory

Blake Morgan’s teams and leading individuals in Southampton and Portsmouth have been recognised for the strength and depth of their expertise in the 2021 edition of the prestigious Legal 500 UK guide.

Each year, The Legal 500 reviews and benchmarks the strength of law firms and their lawyers based on extensive research and feedback from clients. For 2021, Blake Morgan secured 58 rankings, with 27 practice areas being ranked ‘Tier 1′ in recognition of delivering best-in-class service. 71 of the firm’s lawyers also received individual recognition.

In this year’s Legal 500, Blake Morgan was ranked as a Tier 1 firm in six practice areas across the South East region of Hampshire, including Dispute Resolution – Commercial Litigation, Real Estate, Corporate and Commercial, Employment, Family Law and Personal Tax, Trusts and Probate. A further six practice areas were awarded a Tier 1 ranking across the South East region, including Construction and Banking and Finance. In total 21 practice areas secured rankings this year.

The Legal 500 directory also lists three South Coast partners as ‘Leading Individuals’, an accolade that recognises those lawyers who have demonstrated sector leadership and expertise. Those ranked include Paula Shea in the Personal Tax, Trusts and Probate group, with one client commenting “Paula and her team are exemplary listeners and are therefore able to give the very best advice”.

Eight lawyers across Hampshire and the South East were listed as ‘Rising Stars’ within their fields of expertise, including Hollie James, Holly Cudbill and Jonathan Sleep. Also in this category was “star” lawyer, Gemma Spicely from the Corporate and Commercial team, and Jennifer Williamson in the Family Law practice – praised for making “a fantastic start to her career” and described as “very hard-working and conscientious and instils great confidence.”
