Language requirements can be a legal minefield
While there are new requirements in the public sector regarding speaking English or Welsh in public-facing roles, what is the position for private/voluntary sector employers? Can they insist on employees having a certain level of English (or Welsh), or indeed insist that other languages are not spoken at work if it is felt that other workers might feel excluded?
