The welfare of employees continues to be at the forefront of responsible leadership. However, a recent survey has revealed the worrying extent of pregnancy and maternity discrimination in the workplace. Bullying and harassment and hurtful comments about their appearance are just some of the negative experiences women have faced.
The UK has stringent protections for pregnant women and new mothers and employers who ignore these risk costly Employment Tribunal claims, reputational damage and the loss of valuable talents and skills of women who may look for alternative employment elsewhere.
