Life at Blake Morgan
From social activities to corporate social responsibility, from the moment you join the team you’ll have a wealth of social and networking opportunities available to you. We also have a range of EDI initiatives which you are encouraged to participate in and help make a difference.
Our Training Contracts are carefully structured to give you experience in a range of legal work and designed to provide variety, responsibility and intellectual challenge. You will complete a series of 6-month placements across our business groups, gaining extensive knowledge in different specialisms and a real commercial understanding of how our teams work together to provide relevant, realistic legal solutions to our clients’ business challenges.
With each placement your supervisor will involve you directly in work so you learn from personal experience as well as observation and instruction. Many of our trainees also have the opportunity to go on a secondment with one of our clients.
We check in on your progress and development regularly with a mid-seat and end of seat review. Our Trainee Regional Partners are also on hand to give you support and guidance as you progress through your journey
Through our Blake Morgan Academy, you will have access to a range of learning resources to supplement your professional education and enable you to complete the Professional Skills Course requirements.

We offer no guarantees of success – only opportunities to succeed
Our recruitment process for Training Contracts typically opens in October each year. Please see details of each stage in the process below:
The first stage is to complete an application form, in this form we are looking for applicants to demonstrate their keen interest in Blake Morgan. We're also looking to hear about you, your personal achievements and what makes us a great match for one another.
If the application is successful applicants will have an initial screening call with a member of the recruitment team.
From here applicants will be invited for a 1st round interview, this will be a Teams interview with a member of the recruitment or HR team and will look at some of the key competencies that we look for in our trainees. If a candidate has applied for a place on our vacation scheme and is successful at this stage they will secure a place on the scheme.
Successful candidates will then be invited for a second and final round interview at one of our offices. On the day candidates will give a pre-prepared presentation on a select topic, a written assessment and an interview with one of our Regional Training Partners, a member of HR and a Partner or Legal Director.
At Blake Morgan we believe that our apprentices play a vital role in the running of our business and bringing a new perspective to the way we do things. We currently offer Level 2 and Level 3 Business Administration apprenticeships across the firm within both our legal and support functions. Please contact Lauren Banks to enquire about any opportunities.
