Alejandro Worthington

Alejandro’s practice focuses on corporate and personal insolvency and restructuring matters, acting for insolvency practitioners, directors, individuals, lenders and entities acquiring the businesses and assets of insolvent companies. He undertakes contentious and transactional insolvency work, also advising on guarantees, enforcement and related issues.

Main areas of practice

Alejandro specialises in insolvency and restructuring work, recently having undertaken mandates in sectors including leisure and hospitality, education, real estate, finance, medical research and climate technology. He is currently engaged in a number of High Court cases, advising insolvency practitioners on antecedent transaction claims and applications to court for specific relief including pursuant to section 236 of the Insolvency Act 1986, as well as advising directors and creditors in respect of rescission orders and restoration orders. Alejandro also undertakes insolvency sales, acting both for buyers and the insolvency practitioners as sellers.

Career

Alejandro qualified in September 2002, starting his insolvency career in late 2004 at Francis Wilks & Jones.

Alejandro joined Blake Morgan after nearly seven years at JMW Solicitors, having previously worked at other City firms, including Kennedys for nearly nine years.

Alejandro read Modern Languages (Spanish and French) at Oxford University prior to attending the College of Law in London.
