Amy Smith

Amy is an Associate in the Intellectual Property team in Southampton specialising in brand protection and intellectual property disputes.

Main areas of practice

Amy advises clients in relation to domestic and international trade mark applications, trade mark clearance searches, trade mark opposition proceedings and brand strategy to ensure that brands are appropriately protected. She manages global watch services and assists clients with the management of large trade mark portfolios.

Amy also advises on the enforcement of intellectual property rights involving trade mark and copyright infringement, passing off and the preparation of cease and desist letters.

Career

Amy graduated with a First Class Honours Degree in Law in 2017. She subsequently completed the LPC LLM in Professional Legal Practice at the University of Law before joining Blake Morgan in 2018.

Amy qualified as a Solicitor in September 2022 and was promoted to Associate in July 2024. She is currently undertaking further study at Queen Mary University of London as she works towards dual-qualification as a Chartered Trade Mark Attorney.
