Joan is an experienced corporate lawyer focused on mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance, venture capital and equity capital markets.
Main areas of practice
Joan’s main practice areas include company flotations and secondary offerings on the Official List and AIM of the London Stock Exchange, as well as the Aquis Stock Exchange. She also advises on the Takeover Code, reverse takeovers, cross border schemes of arrangement, PIPEs, equity based fundraisings, strategic investments, joint ventures, refinancings/financings and outside general counsel matters.
She regularly handles cross border matters, advising UK and international companies across the Far East, Latin America, Europe and Africa.

Joan acts for public and private companies, nomads, sponsors, financial advisers, banks and brokers.

Career
Joan qualified as a solicitor in England and Wales in 2002 and also in the Republic of Ireland in 2017 (non practising). Prior to joining Blake Morgan, Joan worked in the Dublin office of a US law firm, she was Head of UK Capital Markets at the London office of a US law firm and Head of Corporate at a London headquartered law firm.
Joan joined Blake Morgan as partner in January 2026.
