Rebecca is a member of the Court of Protection team based in Southampton. She has a working knowledge of Court of Protection processes and matters, as well as the process of setting up a Deputyship with the Court.

Main areas of practice

Rebecca assists the more senior fee earners with the day-to-day running of files. Central to Rebecca’s role in the team is the administration of payments to and from clients’ bank accounts, ordering equipment and issuing carers’ cards, checking the balances and topping them up as necessary. She also assists with annual Deputyship reports and preparing schedules of income and expenditure. Rebecca liaises with clients, their families and support workers, as well as external companies.

Clients

Our client base within the Court of Protection team is extremely diverse. From children who have conditions such as Cerebal Palsy as a result of clinical negligence, to adults who have brain injuries, Personal Injury cases, and elderly clients who have Alzheimer’s and or Dementia.

Career

Rebecca graduated from the University of Winchester with an Upper Second Class Degree with Honours in Sociology in 2017 and joined the Firm in November 2017 as a Litigation Administrator within the Commercial Recoveries team, before moving to the Court of Protection team in April 2018.

She was promoted to Senior Paralegal in July 2022.
