Main areas of practice
Ruth leads business development activity for Blake Morgan across Wales, helping to drive growth, strengthen client relationships and raise the firm’s profile across the region. Alongside her regional remit, she supports the firm’s Employment, Immigration, Benefits and Pensions, and Corporate teams on a national basis, developing and delivering strategies that create opportunities and deepen client engagement.
Working across these practice areas, Ruth collaborates closely with partners, lawyers and clients to identify opportunities, build strategic relationships and connect organisations with the expertise they need. She is passionate about understanding clients’ challenges, creating commercial solutions and supporting the long-term growth of both clients and the firm.
Career
Ruth has more than 17 years of experience within professional services, including over 15 years in the legal sector. Throughout her career, she has developed a strong track record of building trusted client relationships, identifying opportunities for growth, and delivering strategic business development initiatives. Her extensive industry knowledge, commercial insight, and client-focused approach enable her to connect organisations with the expertise and solutions they need to achieve their goals. Ruth is passionate about creating long-term partnerships and helping clients navigate challenges while driving sustainable business success.

Ruth is actively involved in supporting her local community and the wider Welsh business sector. She is a business mentor through Arts & Business Cymru, supporting organisations and individuals to achieve their growth and development ambitions. In addition, she serves as a Governor at Llanishen Fach Primary School, contributing to the school’s strategic direction and ongoing development.
Previously, Ruth served as Chair of Trustees for a registered charity, providing strategic leadership and governance oversight. Alongside her professional and voluntary roles, she has a longstanding interest in pensions policy and research. In 2017, she was a key contributor to the Pensions Policy Institute’s report, Consumer engagement: barriers and biases, which explored how behavioural economics influences engagement with pension saving and retirement decision-making.
Through these roles and experiences, Ruth brings valuable expertise in governance, stakeholder engagement, strategic planning and relationship building, further strengthening her commercial and client-focused approach.
