Sophie Benson

Sophie is an Associate in the Construction team, based in our Oxford Office.

Main areas of practice

Sophie assists the team on a mixture of contentious and non-contentious matters.

Sophie has experience preparing and negotiating a variety of construction contracts including JCT, building contract amendments, professional appointments, collateral warranties, novation deeds and other ancillary documents. She also has experience assisting with a variety of contentious matters.

Career

Sophie graduated from the University of Exeter in 2019 with an Upper second-class honours degree in Law. She then completed the LPC MSc in Law, Business and Management at the University of Law in Reading and graduated with a Distinction in 2020.

In January 2021, Sophie joined Blake Morgan as a Paralegal in the Regulatory team. Sophie was then promoted to a Case Manager in the Regulatory team in July 2022.

Sophie commenced her training contract with the firm in September 2023. Sophie completed the first seat of her training contract in the Banking and Finance department, where she assisted on a variety of transactions involving debt finance. She completed her second seat in the Succession and Tax team, where she assisted on Probate, Estate Administration, Tax and Trust matters. Sophie completed her third seat in the Construction team and qualified as a Solicitor in March 2025.

She was promoted to Associate in July 2026.
