A double cause for celebration for Blake Morgan at the Internal Communications and Engagement (ICE) Awards 2025
Blake Morgan celebrated the importance of internal communications and engagement within businesses with two awards on Wednesday, 4 June.
Vicky Hanks and Livvy Hamblin from the law firm’s marketing team were joined by Chair and Head of the EDI Committee, Helen Bunker, LGBTQ+ Champion, Jack Wiseman-White, and Ethnicity and Beliefs Champion, Spencer Gardner for an evening of celebrating those working behind scenes of organisations at the Internal Communications and Engagement (ICE) Awards 2025.
Now in its seventh year, the ICE awards celebrate the importance of clarity and creativity within businesses, raising the bar for excellence across the invaluable work of internal communications.
Blake Morgan were up against some stellar competition and household names such as Aviva and Bupa, but still won bronze for Best DE&I Initiative and silver for Best Internal Communications from the Professional Services Sector.
Commenting on the bronze win in the Best DE&I initiative commentary, the judges said:
Law firm Blake Morgan is the only law firm in the Inclusive Top 50 Companies in the UK – and has been ranked there for eight years. But to ensure its commitment to DE&I continues, it developed a webinar series focusing on diversity issues, developed an annual report and communicated regularly about DE&I through internal channels.
Judges thought the ongoing commitment to excellence in diversity and inclusion was superb and well supported by Blake Morgan’s internal comms activities.
As for Blake Morgan’s silver accolade in the Best Internal Communications from the Professional Services Sector, the judges commented;
For law firm Blake Morgan’s 10th anniversary its internal communications programme focused on communicating pride in the company’s achievements and promoted a sense of belonging.
Communications across DE&I activities, conferences, milestone moments from the past, and leadership strategy ensured the firm’s direction of travel was clear for all employees.
Judges thought the engagement levels were an excellent indication of the programme’s impact.
Chair, Helen Bunker, said:
“I have never underestimated the importance of Internal Communications. Seeing the other shortlisted nominees this evening (many of them household names), as well as our submissions, reinforced just how important and relevant internal engagement is, particularly as we grow.”
