Blake Morgan has advised the shareholders of The Bay Tree Food Co, an award-winning, Devon-based manufacturer of artisan chutneys, relishes, sauces and jams on its sale to Bramble Foods Group, a leading LDC-backed manufacturer and distributor of fine foods to independent local retailers, garden centres, farm shops and holiday parks.

Blake Morgan’s corporate team on the south coast worked on the deal alongside Blair Hooley, corporate finance adviser with Dorset FD. The Bay Tree’s founder and CEO, Emma Macdonald, will remain with the business following the transaction and commented:

Being part of a larger group will accelerate the next phase of our development and I’m looking forward to the opportunities that will bring. Thank you to the Blake Morgan team, especially Stephen and Katie, for providing us with the legal advice that was needed to help make the deal go through. They ensured the sale went as smoothly as possible.

Corporate partner Stephen Archibald, who worked on the deal along with solicitor Katie Newham, said: “We were delighted to work with Emma and her fellow shareholders on the deal and to help The Bay Tree continue on its journey.
