Leading law firm Blake Morgan has announced it will be sponsoring this year’s Women in Business Awards recognising the achievements of female business leaders across Thames Valley and the South Coast.

For the last three years, the firm has sponsored the Women In Business Programme. This began life as an awards programme recognising the achievements of women in the local business community, but has become much more about setting and driving an agenda for change in the board room and beyond.

Blake Morgan employ 1000 people, 60% of whom are female and are proud to have a strong track record of women in partnership and senior management positions – with their Board comprising 25% female membership.

This year’s awards were launched at the Oakley Court Hotel in Windsor at an event attended by over 100 local women business leaders from Thames Valley and the South Coast.

Senior associate, Katie James, took to the stage to launch proceedings, commenting:

As a business our greatest asset is our people, and if we are to make the most of those assets we need to keep them, nurture them, motivate them and support them to their full potential. Research shows that businesses committed to gender diversity outperform their competitors by 15%.”

Women in Business celebrates, encourages and inspires successful and aspiring business women in the South.
