Leading law firm Blake Morgan has announced the promotion of eight solicitors in its Cardiff office.

The firm says the large number of lawyers taking a step up underlines its commitment to nurturing and developing talent in-house.

The promotions are made as Blake Morgan celebrates another successful year for its Cardiff office with a diverse client base including Tidal Lagoon and Tredz and Wheelies.

There were five promotions in the firm’s Commercial Services division, where Cathy Bryant rises from Associate to Senior Associate and her colleagues Kevin LauStacey JeffreysLuke Russell and Alex Butler are promoted from Solicitor to Senior Solicitor.

The commercial team support businesses in the region with a full range of legal services including employment, intellectual property, IT, outsourcing, contracts, franchising, dispute resolution, finance, mergers, acquisitions and corporate governance.

The rest of the promotions were in the Built Environment division where construction specialist Kate Howell is promoted from Senior Solicitor to Associate, and Charlotte Vince, also a construction lawyer, is promoted to Senior Solicitor. James Mugleston, a commercial property specialist, also rises to Senior Solicitor.

The promotions reflect the increasing demand for real estate advice in Wales and Blake Morgan’s position as a firm of choice for property developers and investors in key regeneration and investment projects in the region.

Across its offices in Portsmouth, Southampton, London, Oxford, Reading and Cardiff, Blake Morgan has promoted 44 members of staff.

Regional Senior Partner, Emyr Lewis said: “I would like to congratulate all the Blake Morgan team members on these promotions – each and every one is on merit and well-deserved.

The high number of promotions that we announce today is a source of great pride and shows the extent of expertise that we have within the firm at all levels.”

Blake Morgan’s leading teams and most respected individuals have given a resounding show of strength in Chambers and Partners – the authoritative guide to the legal profession in the UK – with the Cardiff firm being described as a ‘formidable practice’ and the ‘go to firm in Wales’.
