Blake Morgan has secured another strong set of results in Wales in The Legal 500 UK 2027 Guide, with 11 of its 15 ranked practice areas achieving Tier 1 status.

The Top Tier rankings span corporate and commercial, commercial litigation, employment, insolvency and corporate recovery, public sector, construction, property litigation and social housing, and intellectual property.

A number of testimonials in the Guide highlight the strength of the firm’s work in these areas:

The team combines strong technical capability with a practical and commercial approach. Advice is clear, focused on outcomes, and tailored to the needs of the business rather than being overly theoretical.

They’re down to earth, understand the market, and understand the business I work in, so they adapt their advice to suit the needs of what I’m looking for. But equally, they’re straight talking and will outline what the key risks are.

The firm’s four remaining Welsh practice areas were all ranked in Tier 2: banking and finance, charities and not-for-profit, personal tax, trusts and probate, and commercial property. Together, the results reflect the breadth of Blake Morgan’s work with corporate, public sector, not-for-profit and private clients in Wales.

Further praise for Blake Morgan included:

The practice stands out for the clarity and accessibility of its communication. Complex legal issues are explained in a straightforward and concise manner, enabling both legal and non-legal colleagues to engage with and act on the advice confidently. This is supported by a collaborative working style, with the team taking time to understand organisational context and priorities, and maintaining a responsive and approachable service.

The breadth and depth of expertise of the partners, and the ease with which the relevant expertise was obtained, were highly impressive. We were dealing with a complex array of commercial, property, and banking considerations and then had an additional unexpected issue with employment – we had rapid access to highly useful, technical, but also strategic advice from a partner with the relevant skill set every time.

The 2027 Guide also recognised 29 individual Blake Morgan lawyers in Wales across 34 ranking entries.

Six lawyers were included in the prestigious Legal 500 ‘Hall of Fame’: Joanne Davies for employment, Claire Rawle and Robin Havard for health and safety, Paul Caldicott for insolvency and corporate recovery, Eve Piffaretti for public sector, and Lee Fisher for intellectual property.

Thirteen lawyers were recognised as Leading Partners, six as Leading Associates and six as Next Generation Partners.  The individual rankings cover fields including corporate and commercial, dispute resolution, employment, social housing, private client, public sector, real estate, insolvency and intellectual property.

The results reflect the depth of established expertise across Blake Morgan’s Welsh practice, alongside the continued recognition of lawyers building their reputations across their respective fields.

Lee Fisher, Co-Head of Office in Wales at Blake Morgan, said:

This year’s results demonstrate the breadth of expertise within our Welsh practice and give us a great deal to celebrate.

Securing 15 practice area rankings, including 11 in Tier 1, is a significant achievement. The recognition spans the full range of support we provide to organisations and individuals across Wales, from corporate and commercial and public sector advice, to private client and not-for-profits matters.

I am equally pleased to see so many of our individual lawyers recognised, reflecting the strength and depth of experience within our teams in Wales. Each of these rankings reflects the contribution of talented lawyers across our business, and I would like to congratulate everyone involved.
