Blake Morgan is celebrating the achievements of Partner Dov Katz. He returned from the 2026 Maccabiah Games with a remarkable collection of medals from the table tennis competition, while also playing a key role in safeguarding the integrity of one of the world’s largest international sporting events.
Dov represented the rest of the world delegation at the 22nd Maccabiah Games in Israel, where more than 5,000 athletes from over 40 countries competed across a wide range of sports. Alongside his sporting success, he served as Chairman of the Court of Discipline for Maccabi World Union, a senior regulatory appointment he also held at the previous Games in 2022.
The Court of Discipline is responsible for regulatory oversight of sporting rules, integrity and codes of conduct across the Games. The work involved adjudicating complex disputes, overseeing disciplinary matters and ensuring compliance with international sporting standards, particularly during high-profile football tournaments featuring former professional players.
The role required impartial decision-making, careful legal analysis and the ability to deliver binding rulings within demanding timeframes – skills that closely reflect the expertise Dov brings to clients at Blake Morgan.
Speaking about the experience, Dov said:
Serving once again as Chairman of the Court of Discipline was a tremendous privilege. The role required fairness, independence and decisive decision-making under pressure, all of which are principles that sit at the heart of legal practice. It was an honour to help uphold the integrity of such a significant international sporting event.
In recognition of his leadership and commitment to the Games, Dov was also presented with a commemorative plaque and additional medals during the Closing Ceremony. Earlier in the event, he and members of his family were given the honour of marching with Team GB at the Opening Ceremony.
Away from his judicial responsibilities, Dov enjoyed outstanding success in the masters table tennis competition, securing a complete set of podium finishes:
- Gold Medal – Team event
- Silver Medal – Men’s Doubles
- Bronze Medal – Mixed Doubles
The highlight was the team gold medal victory over Team USA in the final, with Dov’s team overcoming opponents that included internationally renowned table tennis player and Paralympic gold medallist Tahl Leibovitz.
Dov added:
Winning a gold medal was an unforgettable moment and one of the proudest achievements of my sporting life. To balance that success with my responsibilities as Chairman of the Court of Discipline made the experience particularly rewarding.
The achievements reflect Dov’s commitment both on and off the sporting stage, combining elite competition with a senior governance role that demanded the highest standards of professionalism, integrity and judgement.
