Women’s Prize 2025 winners announced
The winners of the Women’s Prize for Fiction and Non-Fiction were announced at a ceremony on Thursday, 12 June.
Yael van der Wouden won the Women’s Prize for Fiction. Her unsettling, tightly-plotted debut novel which explored repressed desire and historical amnesia set against the backdrop of the Netherlands post-WWII, The Safekeep, was chosen by the judges.
Rachel Clarke was crowned the Women’s Prize for Non-Fiction winner with The Story of a Heart. Judges said it is a clear-sighted and vital exploration into the human experience behind organ donation.
Meera Jansen, Natalie Coates, Penny Rinta-Suksi, Michelle Davenport and Rebecca McCarthy from Blake Morgan attended the celebration of women authors in Bedford Gardens, London, along with clients and contacts as guests.
Michelle Davenport, Legal Director in the Corporate team, commented:
It was great to celebrate the winning authors but also see so many people share a passion for books written by women. All of the books on the short and long lists for fiction and non-fiction look superb. I’ll be getting stuck into as many as I can.
