Welcome to this month’s edition of Private Client Issues, Blake Morgan’s monthly round-up of the topics you may find of interest. It features insight and advice on developments affecting private individuals.
As the UK continues to get back to the office, we are focussed on providing you with a high-quality service, while working to keep our staff, clients and contacts safe. Our offices are all open and we are continuing with a phased increase in attendance whilst enabling social distancing to be maintained. This means employees continue to work from home, but attend the office where there is a business need. We remain happy to meet with you virtually, or in person where this is preferred. We are really proud of the way that our staff have risen to the challenge without impacting the service we provide.
Do you need a Will?
Making a Will can help protect your loved ones and ensure that your estate is dealt with in the way that you choose. It is also an important tool in estate and Inheritance Tax planning.
Making a digital Will
Research undertaken by the Law Society showed that just a quarter of people surveyed know what happens to their digital assets when they die and why it is important to include them in their Will.
What happens to your social media after you are gone?
It is particularly important to consider who you would want accessing your social media accounts. In general, there will be a lot of information stored on your social media.
What happens to pensions in divorce?
Pensions can have a big impact on divorce and financial settlements so it is important to get the right legal advice when you are separating.
Family lawyers pay for themselves in wealth management
Fewer people than ever before are using a solicitor when their relationship ends. Is divorce without legal advice a savvy financial decision or one to be regretted ‘until death us do part’? We look at the risk of financial loss, complex assets and financial orders.
If you are impacted by any of the above topics or you would like further information on how we can help you, please contact your usual Blake Morgan adviser.
