We are delighted to invite you to join us for our final Employment webinar of the year: Looking ahead to 2027 in the world of Employment Law.

Webinar information

The webinar will take place on Thursday 10 December 2026 from 10 am to 11:15 am.

In 2027, we will see the implementation of some of the significant changes introduced by the Employment Rights Act 2025. The wide-ranging measures include changes to unfair dismissal rights, the introduction of statutory bereavement leave and improved access to flexible working. Dates for some of the measures have been confirmed and many employers and HR professionals are already preparing for these.

While much of the focus next year will be on the Employment Rights Act 2025, there is another important trend which is likely to become increasingly high-profile. This is the use of AI in generating grievances and Employment Tribunal claims. Whilst AI can be a useful tool, especially for unrepresented litigants, there is evidence that it often results in lengthy, unfocused and inaccurate documents.

In the webinar, Employment Partners, Rajiv Joshi and Jane Biddlecombe will be joined by Associate Laura Wood and they will:

  • Discuss the high-profile changes to unfair dismissal rights in January 2027 and the implications of the removal of the compensation cap.
  • Consider the duty of employers, from January 2027, to provide workers with a written statement informing them of their right to join a trade union.
  • Highlight the practical issues arising out the introduction of statutory bereavement leave in April 2027.
  • Look ahead to the Autumn 2027 flexible working changes and the new reasonableness test.
  • Discuss other proposals such as the new fire and rehire provisions (expected in January 2027) and when the other measures, zero hours v guaranteed hours contracts and changes to the collective redundancy consultation threshold may be implemented.
  • Consider how employers can manage lengthy and complex AI-generated grievances and Employment Tribunal claims.

As well as discussion and insights from Rajiv, Jane and Laura, there will be time for you to ask questions.
