Tom Pimenta is a skilful lawyer, and very good at client management.

Tom is a Senior Associate in our Employment Law team. He advises on contentious and non-contentious HR issues in the technology and charity sectors amongst others.

Main areas of practice

Tom is experienced in conducting Employment Tribunal litigation in relation to unfair dismissal, whistleblowing, discrimination, and contractual or wages disputes, amongst other HR issues. Tom has undertaken Employment Tribunal advocacy and has also successfully negotiated settlement in a judicial mediation on behalf of his client.

He gives HR support and training, both nationally and internationally, on a range of matters when preparing contracts and handbooks, as well as when advising on risks and strategy in relation to employment status, disciplinary hearings, dismissals, TUPE and redundancies. Tom also provides advice to employers and employees in relation to settlement agreements.

Tom advises a variety of businesses of all sizes in sectors including technology, charities, pharmaceutical, sport, construction and social housing. He has also advised many senior executives on exiting major organisations.

Career

Tom graduated from the University of Southampton with a Law degree and obtained a distinction in the LPC at the University of Law, London Bloomsbury.

Having qualified as an employment lawyer in 2017, Tom has been a member of the Employment Lawyers Association (ELA) and has worked on the ELA ethnicity pay reporting working group to assess the feasibility of ethnicity pay reporting obligations in a similar manner to gender pay gap reporting requirements.

Having worked in top tier employment law departments at major national and international commercial law firms in his career, Tom moved to Blake Morgan in April 2025 as a Senior Associate.

Significant Experience

  • Forcing a settlement at six months’ pay for a senior executive after taking advantage of the employer’s error in the termination date, which gave his client two years’ service.
  • Successfully negotiated undertakings for a property technology company to enforce post-termination restrictions.
  • Advising clients in the housing association, technology, pharmaceutical and education sectors on strategy for allowing remote working from abroad.
  • Providing corporate support including advice on TUPE and redundancies for a sports magazine publishing business.
  • Acting for an international athlete in relation to allegations of doping, resulting in a reduced ban for the client.
