Blake Morgan advise on Powerhouse agreement with National Hydrogen of Australia

Posted on 27th February 2024

Leading law firm Blake Morgan has advised Powerhouse Energy Group plc (PHE) on a framework agreement with Australian based, National Hydrogen Ltd (National H2).

PHE is a company pioneering integrated technology that converts non-recyclable waste into low carbon energy.

The initial five-year framework agreement with National H2 means that PHE will provide technology and engineering expertise to enable a roll-out of multiple hydrogen-based projects across Australia, Italy, Switzerland, and Hong Kong.

Under the Agreement, Engsolve, now a wholly owned subsidiary of Powerhouse Energy Group, will undertake the Front-End Engineering Design for the facilities, which would be fully funded by National H2, ensuring a seamless and well-supported development process.

Blake Morgan Commercial Consultant Sarah Jones and Partner Lee Fisher advised PHE on the agreement.

Paul Emmitt, Powerhouse Energy Group Plc, Chief Executive Officer, commented:

We are excited to leverage our expertise and advanced technologies to develop these facilities and work with National Hydrogen in setting new benchmarks for the hydrogen industry.

I would like to thank the team at Blake Morgan, in particular Sarah and Lee, who helped make this working agreement with National Hydrogen a reality. This a major milestone for us, it delivers a significant endorsement for our technology and know-how and provides us with both a platform for growth and a potential long-term income stream.

Sarah added: “It is great to get this deal done, which is a significant contract and stepping stone for PHE. This arrangement establishes a long-term relationship between Powerhouse and National H2, while also potentially providing a long-term income stream for PHE.

“Our aim is not only to ensure that commercial contracts are legally robust and compliant but that they clearly reflect the nature of the relationship with clients, suppliers and partners so that they help control and manage risk.”
