Blake Morgan advises on the sale of Cambridge Garage to leading car dealership Waylands
Blake Morgan has advised the Stringer family on the successful sale of Cambridge Garage to leading car dealership group Waylands, marking a significant milestone for the long-established family run and award-winning car dealership businesses in the South of England.
Founded in 1963, Cambridge Garage has been owned and operated by the Stringer family for three generations. The business includes Volvo Cars Havant, a used car centre, and a Volvo authorised repairer in Petersfield, with more than 50 employees joining the wider Waylands group as part of the transaction.
Blake Morgan’s Corporate team advised the sellers on the transaction, led by Partner Mathew Wilson, building on a longstanding relationship with the Stringer family spanning several decades. MHA’s corporate finance team also supported the deal.

Waylands represents Volvo, Polestar, Kia, Honda, OMODA, JAECOO and MG across the South. It won the AM Award Dealer Group of the Year award for the sixth consecutive year in 2025 and Used Car Dealer Group of the Year for the first time at the Car Dealer Used Car Awards in 2025.
The Stringer family’s sister business, Cambridge ARC, was not part of the transaction and remains under family ownership.
