UK law firm Blake Morgan has welcomed the announcement of the judging panels for the 2027 Women’s Prize for Fiction and Women’s Prize for Non-Fiction, as it continues its partnership with the Women’s Prize Trust as Official Legal Provider.

The 2027 judges have been announced by the Women’s Prize Trust, bringing together distinguished voices who will take on the task of selecting the outstanding books to be recognised by the two prizes.

As a proud partner and Official Legal Provider to the Women’s Prize Trust, Blake Morgan supports the charity’s work to champion women’s voices and celebrate outstanding writing by women.

The Women’s Prize for Fiction is the largest celebration of female creativity in the world. The 2027 Prize will be chaired by Merve Emre, scholar, critic, editor and professor, joined by Charlotte Collins, Editor-in-Chief of SheerLuxe, broadcaster and podcast host; Esther Freud, novelist and playwright; Theresa Lola, poet, writer and artist; and Eimear McBride, novelist and writer.

The Women’s Prize for Non-Fiction celebrates exceptional narrative non-fiction written by female thought-leaders, changemakers and experts. The 2027 Prize will be chaired by Susie Dent, lexicographer, writer and broadcaster, joined by Shrabani Basu, historian, biographer, and journalist; Reeta Chakrabarti, journalist, broadcaster and novelist; Sophie Morgan, writer, broadcaster, artist and disability advocate; and Emma Reed Turrell, psychotherapist, author, podcaster and speaker.

Michelle Davenport, Partner at Blake Morgan, said:

The announcement of the judging panels is always an exciting moment in the Women’s Prize calendar, marking the beginning of the journey towards recognising another exceptional group of writers.

At Blake Morgan, the values behind the Women’s Prize resonate strongly with us. Greater visibility and recognition for women’s achievements can help drive meaningful progress towards gender equity, which is why we are so proud to support the Women’s Prize Trust as its Official Legal Provider.

We look forward to following the judges as they discover and celebrate some of the most compelling writing by women, and to continuing our work with the Trust throughout the 2027 prizes.

On a less serious note, our Chair, Helen Bunker, bears a striking resemblance to non-fiction judge, Susie Dent – very much looking forward to bringing that up ad nauseum over the next few months!
