Blake Morgan Development and Social Housing specialist Christine Kessler-Robinson has been appointed as a Board Member of the South West Women in Social Housing (WISH) Group.

Christine is from the firm’s Southampton office and is highly experienced in the acquisition of sites for national housebuilders and Registered Providers. Her expertise covers all aspects of land acquisition and assembly, including strategic options, joint ventures, collaboration and development agreements. She also has vast experience in advising on complex disposals (including intricate overage provisions).

Christine will be joining 10 other members on the South West Board along with members from WISH branches in various regions all over the UK, including London, the North West and Cumbria regions.

WISH’s membership base consists of women from across the social housing sector, housing associations, local authorities, development consultants, developers, solicitors, accountants and recruitment consultants and more.

The Women in Social Housing regional boards are dedicated to making sure WISH provides an engaging calendar of informative events for members, providing opportunities to network with women at all stages of their careers and across the whole range of Organisations who operate in the Social Housing sector – both private and public.

Christine said: “I am delighted to have been appointed on to the South West WISH Board.  WISH is currently working to develop a Careers Advice Programme for female school and college leavers, raising awareness of job opportunities within the social housing sector and working to address career progression for women by challenging stereotypes and encouraging successful behaviour. It is initiatives like these that will make a real difference to new entrants to the sector and I look forward to playing a part in driving them forward.”

Blake Morgan’s national Social Housing Team, led by Kate Silverman, spans London, the South Coast, the Thames Valley and Wales. They provide expert advice on all issues including regeneration and major projects, development, planning, procurement, housing management, commercial contracts, energy, banking and securitisation, corporate governance and data protection as well as pensions and employment.

Kate Silverman said “Christine being appointed to the South West WISH Board is absolutely fantastic and demonstrates Blake Morgan’s commitment to diversity in general and WISH in particular and the important role WISH plays in helping women to succeed in the workplace.”
