Posted on 5th December 2024

Blake Morgan has been named as finalists in two categories at the inaugural Insider Media UK Dealmakers Awards.

The UK Dealmakers Awards will bring together the winners of the regional awards, which sees Blake Morgan shortlisted in the ‘Corporate Law Firm of the Year’ and ‘Deal of the Year (Medium)’ categories.

These awards will bring together the UK’s corporate finance community to crown the champion of champions. The regional awards have been established for more than three decades and celebrate the best corporate financiers, accountants, private equity houses, lawyers and funders who have bolstered their region’s prosperity through their outstanding deals.

On winning the ‘Corporate Law Firm of the Year’ award in Wales, Blake Morgan had to demonstrate the most outstanding year advising Wales-based businesses on completed transactions during the qualifying period.

James Williams, Partner in the Corporate team at Blake Morgan, commented:

I am proud of the team and their hard work and commitment. It has been a very successful year for us so it is great to earn this recognition.

The deal that won the South East ‘Deal of the Year (£10m-£40m)’ award saw Blake Morgan advise HSBC’s South East Corporate Banking team on a sizeable debt package. The sustainability-linked loan facilities from HSBC will enable Shoreham Port Authority to meet its environmental targets on waste and emission reduction and its regional economic objectives around training development and educational placements.

Banking & Finance Partner, Kath Shimmin said:

It is just recognition for the hard work and expertise they showed in getting the deal over the line. The evening was fantastic and brilliant to celebrate their achievement.

The UK Dealmakers Awards will take place on 6 February 2025 in Birmingham.
