Blake Morgan welcomes back partner to boost its planning team

Blake Morgan has appointed Sara Hanrahan as a partner within its Property Services team in London as the leading law firm expands its planning expertise.

With over 20 years’ experience in the sector, Sara is making her return to Blake Morgan, having previously worked for the firm as a partner from 2012 until 2020. Her return will see her once again play an important role in the planning team as it continues to grow.

Sara will be rejoining Blake Morgan from Lewis Silkin where she has furthered her strong record of providing bespoke planning solutions for key developers, housing associations, and local authorities, as well as advising high net worth individuals on a range of private planning matters.

She is a specialist in urban development projects and has worked on a number of major schemes across the UK, including the £6 billion regeneration of Swansea City, the 40-acre site redevelopment in Lewisham known as New Bermondsey, a new marina in the Isle of Wight, and advising on Southwark Council’s Vauxhall, Nine Elms and Battersea Opportunity Areas. She will also be bringing her expertise within the retail, hospitality, and leisure sector to Blake Morgan’s planning offering.

Sara has been recognised as a ‘leading individual’ in the renowned Legal 500 rankings and, was commended as “a very smart and commercial lawyer” who “knows the planning system inside out” in the Chambers & Partners industry rankings.

Sara is also a member of the city of London Law Society’s Planning and Environmental Law Committee, the professional representative body for solicitors and law firms in the City of London, which advises on major infrastructure programmes and work affecting the planning process.
