Blake Morgan’s Oxford office helps local charity and social services source 500+ Christmas gifts for children

Posted on 21st December 2022

Blake Morgan’s Oxford office has once again project-managed the ‘Charity Secret Santa Initiative’, calling on local organisations to donate gifts for disadvantaged children who may otherwise receive nothing this Christmas.

For a fifth year running, the office has collaborated on this scheme with Oxfordshire Social Services (OSS), and with charity Children Heard and Seen (CHAS), which provides support to families affected by parental imprisonment.

Under the scheme, OSS and CHAS asked the children under its care for their personal gift wishes, and buyers participating in the scheme selected from a list of those. The gifts ranged from experience vouchers to Lego to cosmetics. Over 500 presents were sourced from generous local businesses and from Blake Morgan staff, delivered throughout December to the law firm’s Oxford office, and sorted by chief ‘elves’ Amy Maher, Sam Hardy and Jake Van Kampen ready for collection by CHAS/OSS in time for Christmas. Meeting rooms briefly became present-filled grottoes as gifts steadily came in – disappearing as quickly as they had piled up, when all were collected on 14 December.

Blake Morgan would like to thank all of the incredibly generous participants and helpers involved in the Charity Secret Santa Initiative 2022.
