Blake Morgan’s team in Wales is celebrating another strong year in the Chambers and Partners 2027 UK Guide, with 11 practice area and 25 individual rankings.
The firm’s excellence across the Welsh market was recognised with 10 of its 11 practice areas placed in the top rank, Band 1. The teams ranked in the very top tier included Employment, Intellectual Property, Real Estate, and Corporate & M&A. In addition to this, Banking and Finance retained its place in the prestigious Band 2.
The firm’s clients said:
The team is brilliant. They are very responsive and commercially aware. They are quick to respond to immediate queries and provide detailed and practical paths through the tricky day to day issues that arrive.
The Chambers 2027 Guide highlights lawyers considered by their peers and clients as leaders in their field. The number of individuals in Wales who ranked in Band 1 or Band 2 reached 12 in this edition, with two lawyers ranked in Band 1 for two different, but linked, specialisms.
These are: Lee Fisher, who achieved the highest ranking in Intellectual Property and Litigation, and Siân Jones, who did so for Social Housing and Real Estate Litigation.
The Guide also highlights the strength and depth of the talent coming through at the firm and those who are considered at the forefront of their generation. Four lawyers in Wales were recognised as ‘Associates to Watch’, namely Sophie Latham in Construction, Sophie Farmer in Restructuring/Insolvency, Ian Jones in Employment, and Tanya Barrett in Social Housing.
Meanwhile, Joanna Corbett-Simmons, who specialises in Litigation, and Charlotte Whitehead in Real Estate were ranked as ‘Up and Coming’, and Adam Carbis in Real Estate Litigation was named ‘Star Associate’.
Among the individuals recognised in Wales, several moved from Band 2 to Band 1, including James Williams in Corporate & M&A, Paula Kathrens in Employment, and Eve Piffaretti in Administrative & Public Law.
The Guide praised the firm’s approach to client work:
Blake Morgan's depth of knowledge is evident in every piece of advice they provide, and they consistently translate complex issues into clear, practical and commercially focused guidance.
The results reflect the depth of established expertise across the firm, alongside the continued development and recognition of emerging leaders in their respective fields. The rankings assess key qualities including sophistication of work, client service, commercial astuteness and the bench strength of the team.
Co-head of Blake Morgan’s Cardiff office, Daniela Smith, said:
It’s brilliant to see the exceptional work of my colleagues recognised in this year’s Chambers and Partners rankings. It comes after another strong year in the Legal 500 for the team in Wales, and for the wider business, which, combined, are a testament to the hard graft we put in and the high standards we hold ourselves to.
I would like to thank our clients for the generous feedback they shared with Chambers and Partners which led to these results, and for our own team at Blake Morgan who have earned that feedback through dedication and hard work.
