Blake Morgan has made three key appointments to build on the success of its Private Law team.

The firm has appointed Mark Scott as a Legal Director in the firm’s London office, where he will be leading the firm’s highly respected Residential Property Team.

Mark joins Blake Morgan from Mishcon de Reya, where he specialised in residential property work for high net worth individuals. Mark has a strong reputation in the residential property market, having acted for domestic and overseas high net worth clients and investors, and for banks on secured lending matters. Mark will lead the London team which includes the firm’s national specialists in leasehold enfranchisement.

Laura Harper also joins the London office, as a Senior Associate in the succession and tax team. Laura joins from Morrisons Solicitors and specialises in advising high net worth individuals, families and business owners. Laura brings to the firm a deep knowledge of the charity sector, which will extend the service offering to clients.

Meanwhile, Charlene Davies-Williams joins the team as a Senior Solicitor and will be working from the firm’s Cardiff office, where she will specialise in succession and tax. Joining from Martyn Prowel Solicitors, Charlene has 12 years’ experience as a private client solicitor.

Their appointments come as Blake Morgan strengthens its teams as part of an ongoing recruitment drive, with other appointments made in its London-based built environment, commercial litigation, private law, residential property and real estate practices as well as in the wider firm’s offices on the South Coast, Thames Valley and in Cardiff.

Mike Wilson, Managing Partner at Blake Morgan, said: “We are delighted to welcome Mark, Laura and Charlene to our highly-respected private client team.

“Mark has a strong reputation in the residential property market, and will further strengthen our offering in London. Laura is a great new addition to our succession and tax team too and will help us develop further our London private client presence. These hires build on our merger with Westminster based firm Piper Smith Watton in 2015, which helped establish our private client practice in London.”

“Charlene’s has vast experience in the field of private law and her expertise and knowledge will further reinforce the firm’s practice in Wales.”

Blake Morgan provides all of the traditional private client services of a top 50 law firm , but takes pride in niche offerings such as family mediation, wealth preservation, non-domiciled tax advice, US/ UK tax planning, leasehold enfranchisement, driver defence, dispute resolution and claims against professionals.
