Orbis Education and Care acquires Bangeston Autism Care Services

Posted on 3rd October 2017
Autism care specialist, Orbis Education and Care, has acquired Pembrokeshire Resource Centre, which trades as Bangeston Autism Care Services, for an undisclosed sum.

Advised by Blake Morgan, the acquisition will see Orbis Education and Care take over the management of Bangeston’s four sites across Pembrokeshire in Wales, with plans for further investment into the business, building on the state-of-art services for autism care both companies are renowned for.

Commenting on the deal, Mike Currier, Chief Executive of Orbis, said: “We are delighted to have secured the purchase of Bangeston Autism Care Services. The business is a great fit for Orbis both strategically and geographically. It is very much business as usual for both parties, and we look forward to taking Bangeston forward through planned investments into the business.”

Blake Morgan previously advised on the sale of the Orbis Group to August Private Equity in 2016. Partner Robert Cherry leads the firms corporate team. He says: “ With ambitious growth plans, we have advised Mike Currier and his team on a number of acquisitions including the purchase and development of the Dan y Coed Centre in Swansea. This latest acquisition of Pembrokeshire Resource Centre is a significant addition to Orbis’ portfolio of residential care and education facilities across South Wales.”

Pembrokeshire Resource Centre was acquired by the current shareholders in 2003. The business employs 90 staff.
