What employers should involve in their anti slavery statement

Following the latest Statutory Guidance which the Government published on 29 October, Allan Briddock and Ruth Christy discuss in 'People Management' details of the new requirement to publish an anti-slavery statement. Under section 54 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015, larger commercial organisations (which can include charities and fee-paying educational establishments) are required to produce an annual 'transparency in supply chains' statement.


On the same day, regulations came into force specifying commencement dates for the new rules. The first statements will be due from 31 March 2016, but should be reporting on activity that is taking place now.
