Family team toast their finalist at awards dinner

Members of Blake Morgan's Oxford family team joined their colleague Catherine Morgan to celebrate her success as a finalist in the "Working Women's Oscars".

Senior solicitor Catherine was in the final shortlist of three in the Employee of the Year category in the NatWest Venus Awards Oxfordshire 2014, and had also been a semi-finalist in the Professional of the Year category.

Catherine, pictured centre, was joined by family team colleagues (left to right) Sara Wigg, Chloe Hubbert and Christine Plews at the awards event at The Belfry Hotel in Thame.

Around 250 guests enjoyed the evening's entertainment, which included singing from Blake Morgan's very own Marlene Hill.

Although she didn't take the top prize, Catherine's nomination was a ringing endorsement and follows the family team's top ranking in Chambers last month.

Blake Morgan partner Christine Plews, who leads the Family Practice Group in Oxford, said: "We are very proud of Cat and of how far she got in the competition. The evening itself was a great opportunity to network and entertain work referrers, demonstrating to them the strength of the team."

The NatWest Venus Awards, which attracted thousands of nominations in 17 categories, were created in 2009 to recognise the achievements of business women. Although they had previously been held in Birmingham, Brighton, Bristol, Devon, Dorset, Portsmouth and Southampton, this was the first year they had been brought to Oxfordshire.
